Natural Stone Characteristics

Emperador Brown marble is naturally rich in character, with intricate veining, mineral variations and occasional small pores, pits or fissures throughout the stone.

As part of the natural stone finishing process, some cavities may be filled with resin or colour-matched stone filler to create a more even surface. Smaller pores, subtle indentations and surface irregularities may remain visible or noticeable to the touch, particularly in matte (honed) finishes.

These characteristics are inherent to natural marble and are not necessarily imperfections or manufacturing defects. Variations in colour, pattern, texture and finish are to be expected and contribute to the individual character of each piece.

Matte or Polished Marble

Our marble pieces are available in two finishes so you can choose the look that suits your space.

Polished: A smooth finish with a gentle gloss that catches the light, enhancing the richness of the brown tones and depth of the natural veining. The result is a refined, luxurious sheen without an overly reflective appearance.

Matte (Honed): A soft, low-sheen finish that highlights the natural texture and earthy character of the stone. Its understated appearance creates a calmer, more architectural feel. Small natural pores and surface variations may be more noticeable in this finish.

Both finishes are crafted from solid marble, offering the naturally cool touch, substantial weight and unique character of genuine stone.

Care

Your piece is crafted from natural marble. To keep it looking its best:
- Wipe clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid soaking, submerging or putting marble in the dishwasher.
- Avoid harsh cleaners, bleach, vinegar, citrus-based sprays and abrasive pads, as these can dull or etch the surface over time.
- Marble is naturally porous. Wipe up spills promptly, especially oils, makeup, perfume, wine, coffee and anything strongly coloured, to minimise staining.
- When styling candles or diffusers, use a protective coaster or saucer where needed to prevent heat rings, oil marks or surface damage.
- Handle with care and avoid dropping or knocking against hard surfaces, as natural stone can chip or crack.
